Generally, my reviews have been for movies as opposed to television shows but not all of our entertainment comes in the form of movies. With shows often being every bit as entertaining as many movies, I’ve branched out to include a series review.

The Witcher: Blood Origin isn’t as bad of a show as some would profess but let’s be honest; it’s not a good show either. Though it has a smaller budget, it’s still slightly better than The Eternals (2021) but that isn’t saying much.

As far as the good things go, the show moves at a relatively good pace. It’s only four episodes long so any cringe moments will pass fairly quickly while watching. The concept of the show is also interesting as I generally enjoy expanded story elements to existing lore.

As far as the bad things, there is a bit much here that tugs at one’s feelings of disappointment. None of the characters are particularly interesting or especially charismatic. The chemistry between each character is also lacking. Lastly, there is nothing compelling about either the story as a whole or the tiny moments that would otherwise make a viewer say, “Wow” if this were actually entertaining.

There are movies and shows that have come out of Netflix that I’ve enjoyed immensely however this is a productions that won’t make it into that list. This is really unfortunate because I thought that the concept of the witcher’s origin would make for a wonderful story if only this were made in such a way where it is worth watching.
