I don’t use the pronouns of others. If I’m the one saying them, they are my pronouns and I will say whatever I choose to say because one’s rights are more important than some random person’s feelings. We don’t yet live in a fascist state where the thought police run rampant and stop those that dare think for themselves. Clearly, there is a push to make that happen but we are fortunate enough where that is not yet the case.

Historically speaking, I have used the preferred pronouns of someone who is transgender. It’s not because they were given to me in the form of a list or even that I was asked to use them. This was someone who was born a man but chose to live life as a woman. As this does no one any harm or take away from anyone’s liberty, I say, “more power to her.”

I might not have been so considerate if pronouns were pushed onto me and included “ve”, “ver”, “zim”, “zir”, and other such nonsense. That’s not to say that I object to anyone using those terms but I like my English to have English words in it. As mentioned before, those are my pronouns and I will say what I will.

It’s not my intent to hurt others but the liberty of another should not come at the cost of my own. Also, if a pronoun is enough to hurt you, you’ve got bigger problems that you should resolve.
